Is There No Other Earth-Shattering News?

All Michael Jackson. Every channel. Even in the papers in The Sandbox.

Is there nothing else news-worthy happening in the world? Nothing else going on? Is it that big of surprise that Michael Jackson's life ended so early? I think not. And, that there were drugs found in his system - prescription or otherwise - is hardly a shock.

With the amount of coverage this is getting you'd think that this is the only news in the entire world. I, for one, have had more than enough. It is over. He is dead. Sure, no one wishes death on another, and I didn't wish it on him. Sure, there are three children involved and we have to have some sympathy toward the situation insofar as his children, and his family members, as well, are concerned. But come one. Enough is enough. 24/7 coverage on ALL of the English-speaking news channels is just too much. I realize it is the weekend and all, and that the "Crap and Trade" bull-hooey was just a little "glitch" that happened on Friday [little "glitch," yeah - right - get ready to bend over America! we're about to be butt-screwed like we've never been before - without so much as even a kiss, first!!!]...

Am I the only one who does not think that the death of Michael Jackson is earth-shattering news? Good grief, I hope not.

  1. I am with you one hundred per cent. I totally agree with you that it is very sad for his family etc but I personally struggle with mourning the loss of someone who was surrounded by allegations of child abuse.

  2. You are not the only one. After 3 days of non-stop coverage it is way past enough. But you have to admit, MJ's death did take the limelight off the cap and trade pooey. Now there's a conspiracy therory....

  3. In the Hitchhikers' Guide, Douglas Adams describes the job of Zaphod Breeblebox. Zaphod is President of the Galaxy and spends his time strutting about for spectators, leering into cameras and saying foolish things and getting really drunk in public places so that everyone watches him. The real governing of the galaxy is done by a handfull of people who could never get anything done were the public aware of them. Dr Savage calls this the celebratocracy; Ronald Reagan had an interior secretary named James Watt; Josylyn Elders did the same job for Bill Clinton.
Like they said at the Jawa Report, Mahmoud must be doing the moonwalk now. I am certain that Nancy Pelosi is.

  4. Amen. Enough already with Wacko Jacko.

And JEJA sneaked the "global warming" package through Congress the same day. We're seriously f*cked more than we already are thanks to "The One" if it survives the Senate. All it will accomplish is to send even more manufacturing to China which has *no* pollution regulations, so in effect, the green bullsh*t bill will actually cause more global warming, if there is such a thing.

  5. I don't disagree with you at all, Eternally Distracted. But for the fact that the family deserves to mourn - I kept out my opinion on whether or not I think MJ was a pedophile. You don't pay $20,000,000 to settle a matter - out of court - if there was NO wrongdoing. Right? I am not mourning him - the loss of him - just allowing for his family to do so without adding insult to injury. [Although I guess I wasn't able to help myself - with this comment.]

Oooh, I like that Linda. "A conspiracy theory." You mean like he was paid off to die on the day that "crap and trade" was shoved through? Most excellent thought, indeed!

Never read Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy, vermindust. No doubt in my mind that what you've described IS exactly what is happening. I can't get to Rusty's site. It is blocked, here.

No kidding, Shabaz. And like I said, "bend over Americans" because you are about to get more seriously f*cked than you ever have with what the jeja has up his sleeves [see vermindust's comment - who are the real puppeteer's? I'm convinced that the jeja is merely the marionette in this real life nightmare we've got some 1301 days to try to get through - but who's counting?]

  6. Actually my thought was a bit more sinister. Since the autopsy showed no clear indication, maybe MJ's doc had some bent nose connections. It was reported the doc had some financial difficulties, so......

  7. And that "doctor" (cardiologist) wasn't even certified. He had one patient, MJ. Why would he kill the golden goose?

MeThinks, MJ wanted/needed another fix, broke doctor obliged and with MJ's body so jacked up, just walking up a set of stairs could have caused his heart to stop.

Then again, I really don't give a damn.
