Camel Meat

I've never tried it. Never will. But then, I don't eat any meat... A couple of men purchased a camel and then slaughtered it. The camel was, supposedly, sick, but the men were going to distribute the meat anyway? [And officials are worried about pork, here. Hmmpf.] The "meat was unfit for human consumption." Interesting.

You have to click here to see the picture of this camel going for a ride. I'm going to guess the camel wasn't particularly thrilled about his jaunt through Dhahran in the trunk of a car.

  2. Rumor had it that Hunter's Lodge over in Bahrain (it's a local pub there) served camel meat. But I do know one thing: they always had the best steak dinners ever, and that's one of the highlights the Saudis hit on Friday nights as they escaped over the causeway to Bahrain.

If you ever go to Bahrain look up Hunter's Lodge!

  3. We go so infrequently, now, Steve - I can't remember the last time we went over for dinner. Just not worth the hassle most of the time. But I will be sure to share with DH that Hunter's Lodge has a recommendation to be a good place for a steak dinner. You don't happen to remember what the salad menu was like, do you?
