Striking Ex-Pat Workers
Apparently, Indonesian maids are not the only workers going unpaid. 200 Bangladeshi cleaning and maintenance workers have gone on strike at Jadeedat Ar'ar border post alleging delay in payment of their salaries. I'd be willing to wager a bet that this is not an uncommon practice. We just don't hear about it as often because the workers do not dare speak out or go on strike fearing retaliation from the companies they work for - which would send them home - unpaid - with no possibility of ever being able to return to work here for anyone! It is a lose-lose situation for the workers.
