Women Working

...and being harassed.

When I first read this, my initial reaction was "you've got to be kidding, right?" But the more I see how society functions - or doesn't, as the case may be - here, the more I realize that these women are very likely experiencing all of what they claim and probably a whole lot more!

How could one possibly expect anything different in a culture that has been so closed and off-limits with regard to keeping all males completely separate from females? It was not all that long ago that women in the workplace in the States were not being taken seriously and were treated with little regard or harassed in some form. The biggest difference, of course, was that women in the States never had to experience living in a completely segregated society where men and women NEVER EVER mix!

If you do not have the opportunity to grow up in a "normal" society, where girls and boys play on the playground together, go to school together, enter adolescence and start going to high-school dances and dating, you would, of course, be completely void of any and all social etiquette skills. It is no wonder, then, that young men and perhaps even more mature men are convinced that their harassment of these women is acceptable behavior. They have never learned otherwise, and they don't have a clue, now.

Advice to the women here - just give it time. In just a few short centuries from now you, too, will be treated as equals by your male counterparts in the work force... Probably about the same time you are finally allowed to drive.
