Niagra Falls

It has been almost exactly two years since our "family" trip to Niagra Falls. It was the last summer my Dad was with us. Mom, Dad, DH and me - a day trip to the falls from their house in Bemus Point, New York. It was a glorious summer day! Blue sky, warm out - not hot, though - a weekday and very little traffic and although there were quite a few tourists it was not packed. A photo in an earlier post is from that trip. We did the "Maid of the Mist" tour, but not the "Niagra Whirlpool." I know we stayed much, much drier than Gaius and family did. Just a nice tale of summer vacation... Made me laugh. And, brought back some very, very fond memories. I miss you, Dad!

  1. Ugh I miss my dad too. Those 'family vacations' always bring back fond memories for me too.

I don't know about you and your dad, but me and my dad have this cool relationship where we can just chill out together without saying a word the whole time and still have a wonderful time. Dads are the best!

  2. Enjoy those times where you can just "chill out," L_Oman. They are over all too soon. Dad passed away April 10th, last year. I am thankful we had the time together that we did, although it was NOT enough!

  3. Oh Sabra! I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. And I will take that advice - my dad is recovering from prostate cancer...

  4. Thanks, L_Oman. It is never easy and although it is not as difficult now, you never, ever don't miss your Dad when he's not there!
